About me

My name is Jemima Brett and I am a Certified Holistic Integrative Play Therapist, so I use a range of models and tailor my approach to the needs of each individual child and family I work with.
I am Certified in Integrative and child-centred models and have training in Synergetic Play Therapy®. Synergetic Play Therapy is a research-based approach that blends interpersonal neurology, nervous system regulation, physics, attachment theory, mindfulness and therapist authenticity. I focus on helping children regulate their nervous system, develop emotional resilience, and build deeper connections with themselves and others. I have additional training in trauma informed practice, child sexual abuse, harmful sexual behaviour and domestic violence.
“We do not learn from experience, we learn from reflecting on experience”. Piaget
I have over 15 years experience working with children, particularly with neuro-diversities, victims of domestic abuse, young people who have displayed harmful sexual behaviour and as a Play Therapist. I come from a diverse family with both fostered and adopted siblings, three of whom have autism and other complex needs. My personal history led me to Play Therapy, my lived experience is the foundation of my commitment to holding space for families to work through trauma and grow together.
I have a current enhanced DBS, am registered with the ICO (Independent Commissioners Office), am on the Professionals Standards Authority Accredited Register, receive regular supervision, and have all relevant Indemnity and Public Liability Insurances.
